This book includes selected texts that come from contributions to the Conference on "Music Therapy and Other Musical Approaches for Children and Young People with Disabilities" conducted in the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University in October 2006. The texts refer mainly to use of music as a therapeutic intervention and contain theoretical analyzes, methodological proposals, and individual and group case studies. The editors of the volume hope that this publication will contribute to the development of the limited Greek literature on Music therapy and Music for people with disabilities and will stimulate both the expansion of research in our country and the institutionalization of Music Therapy and integration into Special Education.
